Wtf. I checked my bank of america account which i havent used in like 2 weeks and i had like 51 cents. someone had used my debit card number to purchase somehting at houlihans in massachusetts for 5.32. who is that broke to steal something and buy soemthing worth 5 bucks? what the fuck is houlihans and who the fuck stole my debit card number. anyway, bofa refunded my money and the overdraft fee or whatever and mailed me a new card. ive been to mass only once and i stayed with some guy’s family. im not sure how it happened but im glad whoever it was didnt try to spend wayyyyy more than 5 bucks cos i would have haunted the person down.

Ahhh…im so busy with school and work!! I have no free time and i have had to stop talking to a few guys. I dont need any distractions. And none of them make me hot or anything so bleh. Well, cept one but he’s also busy with school.

Btw, i caught this hot looking dude staring at me at the Jcpenny outlet today. He had this gorgeous green eyes and he was tall!! too bad i was with my parents and he was with his.

My dad is leaving me tomowow :( emoticon

My dad went to visit his friends at KSU today and we all went with him. since i had been wondering what the school was like, i risked going to work late. lol. it was actually a nice school and i have mentioned applying to my dad and he’s okay with it.

of course, tuition is cheaper than GSU. KSU is 1633 for full credit hours, clayton is 1562 and GSU is 1946.

Well, ive been sooo busy. Ive been taking tests all week. I still have another on monday and some more school stuff. I dont have any free time. :(

But its alll good.

Good news: My dad bought a mini van for us. a Dodge something. Its cool. He also went to look at my saturn with the mechanic and he has made decisions on what to do about it. My brother now drives the cutlass sierra and me and my mom drive the dodge. its huge so its like learning how to drive again. emoticon
Im not complaining and i Thank God :D

Before you start emptying your wallets, you should try getting the CAs to validate the debts. Depending on how long ago your investigations were with the CRAs you could do the 1-2 punch that goes like this:

1.) Send Debt Validation letters to CA (very important to send the CMRRR so you know they got them)
2.) Once you receive the receipt cards back ("green cards"), send off a round of disputes with the CRAs

My Bobbie brown lip shimmer (ruby sugar) has been declared missing. I noticed at around 1 am this morning and searched till 3am. i had to wake up for school at 5 so i went to sleep. i woke up still worried. its weird cos i took a pic of my stash last week (10th) and it was there.

I just got back from the post office. i mailed validation letters to all the CAs and letters requesting that all the CRA’s make changes on my credit report. i sent the validation letters CRRR and the correction letters by normal mail. good luck to me

which reminds me. so far, i bought all 3 scores and reports from fico for 32 bucks and i spent 24 bucks to mail all those letters. so far, ive spent a total of 56 bucks. i hope its worth it

Steps to Validation:

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14797
1.Send a standard validation request of CA in writing (sent certified rr of course)

2.Give 31 days after receipt of letter

3.If no validation is given from CA(or if bogus validation is given)

4.At 31 days after CA receipt, dispute with the credit bureaus if a trade line is on the report (the idea being if the CA verifies the trade line to the bureau without validating the debt to the consumer it can be construed as continued collection activity without validation: FDCPA violation. And if they can’t validate the debt, why are they verifying the trade line: FCRA violation compete and accurate info)

5.See if dumb CA verifies the trade line without validating first

6.See if dumb CA continues collection activity without validating (letters, calls etc)

7.Sometime in that process, apply for local credit and get actual damages (in either denied credit or higher cost of credit/ lesser credit line) why local credit? You want to easily be able to subpoena a bank employee in case you actually go to court. Also your file must be seen by someone other than you to count as a definition of file under the FCRA. Look it up if you dont believe me or read the Cousins appeal.

8.Sometime in that process, read the FDCPA and FCRA many times. Get adventurous. Read a bit of case law. Find an attorney in case you later need one (good luck finding a good one who knows consumer law)

9.Look up your state laws; you may have better state laws (Go Texas!)

10.Send CA and now possibly original creditor and credit bureau a demand letter detailing all FCRA and FDCPA (and State law) violations for actual, statutory, and punitive damages, court costs, mental and emotional anguish (you get the idea). Request a full deletion of all trade lines and inquiries and an affidavit from a company officer that all the sensitive info (ssn etc) will be purged from their system in full (with the idea that, if theres no validation theres a reasonable consumer assumption that theres no debt. no debt equals no PP under FCRA, etc) and why should they then have your info on file for all to see wait 31 days after receipt of demand letter.

11.File lawsuit if necessary

12.Settle or go to court (keeping in mind most cases are settled but be prepared to fight in case yours is not)

I pulled my credit reports today. all 3. the scores are pretty bad but ive started taking steps into improvinh my score. i was able to get my mom to get a Macy’s card for me so ill use that to rebuild my score. I have sent a validation letter to Citibank earlier and im still waiting for a reply from them. i will be mailing out validation letters to other CAs tomorrow with CRRR. i also have letters that i will be mailing out to all CRAs becuase they got some old addresses and a few things wrong. this thread on credit boards has been very helpful

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14797

and this is the difference between validation and verification. i got confused for a minute so i was relieved to find this.

Send validation to the collection agency or original creditor, they have to prove that you owe the debt.

Send verification to the credit bureau, they have to check that the info they’re reporting is current and correct

and the other way round :)

CRA: DISPUTE/REQUEST FOR VERIFICATION
CA/OC: REQUEST FOR VALIDATION

Here are the steps to take when you want to get on the journey to repairing your credit:

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=74982&st=0#entry561015

1) Opt-Out.
There is a phone # to call (which I’ve forgotten) to do this.
This keeps the CRA’s (Credit Reporting Agencies) from selling marketing lists which include your information. Helps keep the Popup-collections to a minimum.

2) Prepare a letter to each of the 3 CRA’s, TransUnion, Experian, Equifax asking them to delete all addresses/names other than your current one.
(Incorrect, never lived there, etc)
This takes away one method of verification when you dispute, if that negative is tied to that old address or name.

3) Prepare a listing of all negatives on each report, and gather details as best you can. Date it first went delinquent, date of last activity, etc. You will need these dates to figure the reporting period and if appropriate, when the legal SOL expires.

4) At this point, you might consider a "blanket" dispute of your negatives with the CRA’s. many people have luck with their initial dispute, the easy stuff gets deleted leaving fewer negatives to deal with later.
Results in 30 days, lol.

>>>>>
This is a good time to do some reading.
Up to this point, the stuff you’ve done is pretty straightforward. From now on, a good understanding of the laws involved will serve you well.
Read the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) and the FACTA (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Amendment) update.
Read the FDCPA.(Fair Debt Collection Practices Act)
Read your state laws regarding collections- in the "Consumer Protection" forum.
If you have questions regarding the meaning of something, search then ask here.
In order to use the laws, you have to understand them…

Once you have those down, smile! You know more than 99.9% of the collectors and CRA’s out there- which will work to your advantage.
>>>>>

5) Now you’ll have to start making decisions.
For each negative left, you should consider:

a) Legal SOL.
Can they still sue you? If so, are you prepared to deal with that? Settle? Defend? Countersue?

Who is reporting.
If it’s a CA,(Collection Agency) you may consider a DV letter, or the 1-2 punch.
If it’s OC,(Original Creditor) you have goodwill letters or verification letters at your disposal.

c) age of the negative.
If its nearing the end of the 7-year reporting period, sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all, other than dispute it with the CRA’s as "Obsolete".

As your report clears up, you’ll want to start adding positives to your report.

Initially, being added as an Authorized User is a good way to jumpstart a thin report.

And/Or a secured credit card.
Go with one of the Prime banks, National City, Chase, BankofAmerica, etc.
The nice thing about a secured card is
you keep your money!
Avoid the offers of $300 credit for a $250 fee.
You could put the same $$ into a secured card- and keep it. Why throw cash away? lol….
These subprime card issuers can be (not all of them but some) loaded with "gotchas" which will defeat the purpose. You will outgrow them soon enough anyway.
Particularly avoid Cross Country bank and Aspire. Bad news. Run.

One day soon, you will find yourself in a position to pick your cards and loans…you’ll find approvals rolling in..
This can be a danger point for many people.
Avoid the temptation to run up balances on the cards!
It’s easy to do, the newfound freedom of having credit available seems to make purchases much easier, lol. Ask me!
You’ve worked hard at this point to repair and improve your credit.
Don’t undo your hard work by carrying high utilization, or worse- ending up in a situation where you cannot easily repay the cards.
Not saying you personally will do anything of the sort. Just a forewarning that that day is coming…and it’s an easy pitfall to succumb to.
